Human Dignity Week
April 1 - 5, 2001

Sunday April 1

8:30 p.m. -- Planting of crosses on the lawn in front of University Ministries building, commemorating the victims of abortion, capital punishment and other assaults on human dignity. There will then be a procession to the University Chapel for 9:30 Mass.


Monday April 2

6:00 p.m. -- Student-led discussion on abortion. University Ministries Center.


Tuesday April 3

7:30 p.m. -- Night of Music in the University Chapel. Performers include: internationally known Christian recording artist Ines de Viaud from El Salvador; the Warming House Choir; cellist Dr. K. Sanii; the SBU Flute and String Ensembles; and SBU's Tuesday Night Praise and Worshipers. Admission is free. A free will donation will be taken up for the Warming House and for the victims of the earthquakes in El Salvador.


Wednesday April 4

4:00 p.m. -- Donna Wysokenski, SBU alumna, will speak on Issues Surrounding Cloning and Humanity's Place in the Universe. Dresser Auditorium.

10:00p.m. -- Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Taize Prayer. University Chapel.


Thursday April 5

5:00 p.m. -- Mass in Univeristy Chapel, Fr. Patrick Tutle, OFM presiding.

7:30 p.m. -- presentation on THE Seamless Garment by Fr. Patrick Tuttle, OFM, associate pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, Durham, NC and lecturer at Duke University.
